The Waveney and Yare Housing Association remains in a strong position to provide good quality affordable accommodation and to continue to maintain its housing stock to the current high standards. Demand for our properties continues to exceed our ability to supply, in part down to the average length of tenancy being around 23 years. Nineteen tenancies currently exceed 50 years with the longest being 65 years.

The Association will remain independent, and whilst it may work with other Associations where it is mutually beneficial to do so, it has no plans to formally link to any other Association. It will continue to operate to the benefit of the local communities of Beccles and Gorleston by providing good quality stable homes for local families.

Given the continued demand for its properties the Association will look for suitable opportunities to gradually expand its housing stock to meet demand from both within the Association and from outside. Where there are opportunities to buy suitable stock or to work with developers to acquire additional houses then these will be seriously considered.
