It is important that any repairs needed are reported promptly in order to avoid further damage. The Housing Association's contractors will contact you to arrange a time during normal working hours to complete the work. It is important that you don't miss these appointments as there is a cost to the Association, and repeated instances mean that these costs could be passed on to the tenant. If you need to reschedule an appointment please give our contractor as much notice as possible.
If you are unsure as to who's responsibility a repair is please contact the Association in order to confirm.
In the event that you have an emergency, generally; heating, plumbing, electrical or drains, please contact the office number. If it is outside of office hours please contact the emergency mobile number and if necessary leave a message detailing the problem. There are times when a message on the mobile may not be picked up for an hour or two, so if you have not heard back within a short time please either contact your tenant representative, or contact our contractors direct. If you do contact our contractors direct please leave a further message on the mobile to confirm that you have done so.
The Housing Association has a legal duty to service various items of equipment within its properties on a regular basis and it is important that tenants can agree to an appointment and keep to it. The main items included are; boilers and gas appliances, electrical circuits and smoke detectors.
Note that whilst the association will carry out gas checks on all relevant appliances, any repairs required to either gas fires or cookers are at the tenant's expense as these are not included under the tenancy agreement.
