The Housing Association has a history of long term tenancies with employees of the printing company being offered Assured Non-Shorthold Tenancies. Since the review of the application criteria in 2015 new tenants are now offered a two year Assured Shorthold Tenancy which at the end of the initial period converts to a monthly rolling tenancy.
However the change in style of tenancy does not represent a change in approach to the Association's tenants as it is anticipated that most tenancies would continue to be long term, thus providing an important stable home environment for families. Good tenants will always be welcome to remain as long as they wish, however it does now mean that where there are problems with a tenancy, then should an acceptable solution not be found, further action can be taken including as a final resort the termination of the tenancy.
